CADILLAC — Cadillac lost a 2-0 decision to Bay City Western in a nonconference girls soccer contest Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The game entered halftime scoreless, but the Warriors scored two points in the second half.
“Bay City Western was a strong team,” Cadillac coach Joy Weitzel said. “They were well organized and had some good chances, but we played them right.
“Our defense was solid and compact. We had a good build-up down the field, but we just couldn't convert any clear chances. Lydia (Owens) again made some great saves, Avery (Mickelson) was a dynamic player who moved the ball in the midfield.”
Owens made 14 saves in net.
Cadillac (3-3-1 overall) will play Traverse City Central on Tuesday.

Alyssa Kovacevic scored all four goals, with assists from Morgan McConnell and Olivia Downing.
Audrina Runyon made three saves in goal.
MCBAIN — Northern Michigan Christian stayed perfect with a 6-1 win over Big Rapids Crossroads in NMSL action.
“The high winds and cold made it very difficult to find our offensive rhythm, but we continued to fight hard as always,” NMC coach Jen VanNoord said. “I am very proud of this team, which continues to fight relentlessly.”
Jada VanNoord paced the Comets with three goals and two assists, while Kylie Winkle had a goal and one assist. Melanie Bennett and Sofia Hernandez also scored, and Emerson Bosher added an assist.
Harper Tootsey had eight saves in goal.
NMC (7-0, 5-0) is at Gladwin today.
FRUITPORT — Cadillac finished second at the Fruitport Quad on Saturday.
The host Trojans and Ludington are tied for first with 15 points, while Cadillac is second with 13 points and Whitehall is fourth with five points.
“The team had a great day of tennis overall,” Cadillac coach Erin Schaefer said. “It was a long day with very cold conditions, but they persevered and fought for points.”
No. 1 singles Haley Groen lost to Fruitport 6-3, 6-2, then was sidelined with an injury.
Second place Sarah Outman defeated Whitehall 6-2, 6-1. She lost to Ludington 6-0, 6-2 and to Fruitport 7-5, 6-2.
Avery Heuker defeated Ludington 4-6, 6-3, 13-11 to take third and runner-up. She lost to Fruitport 6-0, 6-0. She defeated Whitehall 6-2, 1-6, 11-9.
No. 4 Natalia Torrado defeated Whitehall 6-3, 6-2. She lost to Fruitport 6-1, 6-0. She then lost to Ludington 6-0, 6-2.
Ellery Schaefer and Allie Baker won the No. 1 doubles title. They defeated Fruitport 6-0, 6-1. They defeated Whitehall 6-1, 6-1. and defeated Ludington 7-6(5), 6-1.
Grace Munk and Adri Beydoun took the title in second place. They defeated Whitehall 6-0, 6-1. They defeated Ludington 6-0, 6-0. They then defeated Fruitport 6-4, 6-1.
Clara Brown and Carly Gaylord were runners-up in third place. They lost to Ludington 6-2, 6-2. They defeated Whitehall 6-1, 6-0. They then defeated Fruitport 6-1, 7-5.
Grace Drabik and Maia Goetz were runners-up in fourth place. They lost to Ludington 6-4, 6-3. They defeated Whitehall 6-0, 6-0. They then defeated Fruitport 6-0, 6-2.
Cadillac hosts Traverse City West on Tuesday.
THOMPSONVILLE — Cadillac finished 27th with a two-day total of 753 points at the Traverse Central Teeoff Invitational held Friday and Saturday at Crystal Mountain.
Grand Blanc won the title with a 605, followed by Traverse City West in second with a 616 and TC Central in third with a 617.
The Vikings opened Friday at 382.
Joey Schaefer had an 87, Ryan Lincoln and Keegan McRoberts each had a 98 and Kasen Dunn had a 99.
Cadillac dipped to 371 on Saturday.
Lincoln had an 89, Schaefer had a 91, Triston Bergey had a 95, Dunn had a 96 and Ethan Nicholas had a 107.
The Vikings are participating in the Alma Invitational today before hosting a tournament at Cadillac Country Club on Wednesday.
