Bam Rodriguez is over 115 pounds, so where does Teofimo fit in at 140?

Note: I don't think Teofimo Lopez is going to beat Jack Catterall, Jose Ramirez or Alberto Puelo right now, but he could win. I'm not sure he'd do well against Sabriel Matias, either. In fact, there are plenty of opponents he's close to 50/50 on paper if you strip away the ESPN hype and evaluate his actual performance.

But he beat Steve Claggett in a crushing victory and basically did everything he was supposed to do except be a “showman”. This is just weird marketing as he's not a particularly fun fighter to watch.

Teofimo is odd, but he's winning fights and nobody's been better lately. You can at least make the case that he deserves the number one spot, but you could also easily make the case that he's outside of the top five.

Note: Bam Rodriguez pretty much won this fight after taking the #1 ranking with a stoppage win over Juan Francisco Estrada. Estrada has dropped to #4 and there is no guarantee he will ever fight again or at this weight class again. But he is far from retired. Bam is a great young fighter and a real rising star in the P4P discussion and continues to prove it time and time again.
