That's true dedication!
Australian field hockey player Matthew Dawson revealed on Wednesday that he has decided to have part of his ring finger amputated in order to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
During pre-Olympic competition, Dawson broke her finger, so she didn't want to let the injury and recovery process stop her from competing internationally. (Related: Wildlife video shows fisherman nearly killed by marlin)
“I made an informed decision with my plastic surgeon at the time, not just for the opportunity to play in Paris, but for the rest of my life,” Dawson told 7News. “The best choice for me was to have the tip of my finger removed.”
Dawson said it was a long-term decision he and his wife had made together, and that the injury would provide him with a “change” and an “exciting challenge”.

I have never seen such dedication to amputating a body part just to play a sport. It's insane.
You know the saying, “Just go for it!”…This guy totally amplified that saying by amputating his own finger! GROSS!
Of course, he's not as tough as Trump…

But it's still tough!
But you have to think… would this be a bad move if he didn't bring home not only a medal but also a gold medal?
