AUBURN — Four-star running back Alvin Henderson, who originally committed to Penn State in April, has committed to Auburn University for football.
Henderson is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 113 player and No. 8 running back in the class of 2025 and attends Elba High School. He is also rated the No. 11 player in the state of Alabama, meaning the Tigers are up to six of the top 15 prospects in the state to commit after signing six of the top 15 last year.
Auburn has not signed more than six of the top 15 players in consecutive seasons since 2010 (6) and 2011 (7), and has not signed more than 12 players in a two-year span since 2014 (7) and 2015 (5).
The 5-foot-9, 200-pound Henderson is the 16th player to commit to Auburn. He has a .9478 overall grade, the highest among offensive linemen currently committed to the Tigers. Other freshmen to watch on the offensive line include linemen Broderick Shull (.9271), Tavaris Dice (.9263) and Kade Smith (.9100).
Henderson ran for 3,523 yards and 61 touchdowns as a junior last season, according to his MaxPreps profile. He was named Class 1A Back of the Year in January.
Auburn currently has the No. 4 class in the country, according to 247Sports' team rankings. The only teams ranked higher than the Tigers in 2025 are Ohio State, Notre Dame and Alabama.
