Asian Boxing Confederation President Pichai Chunhabajira of Thailand and the entire ASBC management team extend their best Eid Al Adha wishes to the boxing community, boxers, coaches, referees, judges, stakeholders, media, member federations and the entire Asian boxing family.
Eid al-Adha, literally meaning “Festival of Sacrifice” in Arabic, commemorates the story of the Islamic prophet Ibrahim's test of faith and marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage. It commemorates Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to Allah's commands. Eid al-Adha, the celebration of the Feast of Sacrifice, began on June 15 and will run until June 19 this year.
The Asian boxing community is a strong and big family, and Chunghabajira wishes all the people of Asia a lot of happiness, peace, effective work and prosperity. The Asian Boxing Federation is proud of the efforts of the Asian national federations who have achieved great results at all levels of boxing.
The first continental event of the year, the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships, took place in Astana, Kazakhstan, with the ASBC planning further activities later in the year following the Paris Olympics.
