World champion fighter Artur Saladiak hopes to inspire the next generation in the sport through coaching.
The Somerset-based Polish-born Saradiak is a three-time world champion, having won titles in Lethwei and Muay Thai in 2018 and 2023.
The 33-year-old is planning one more fight later this year before retiring, after which he hopes to get behind the ring as a coach.
“This is my next step: to pass on this knowledge and my experience and encourage the younger generation to come to this sport,” he told BBC Radio Somerset.
“Because of my experience and what I've achieved and how sport has built my character, I know it can help a lot of people.
“The biggest thing this sport has given me is self-discipline. I learn that in the gym and carry it into my everyday life. Even when things get tough, I don't stop.”
Saladiak, who lives in Taunton and works as a forklift driver, has played in 33 competitive matches and has competed in numerous other competitions around the world.
Lethwei is a martial art that originated in Myanmar, and fighters are allowed to use their bare hands, fists, elbows, knees, head, and feet.
“A lot of people at my level don't have to work. They can train, sleep and train again,” Saladiak said.
“Unfortunately I have to work, but I do it with my chin held high wherever I go, because I'm very proud of what I've accomplished and who I am. Because I think so.”
Saladiak further added, “I dreamed of being the best, I always knew I could be special, and this sport allowed me to do that.”
