BOONE, N.C. — App State football has six home games scheduled through October, including three at Kidd Brewer Stadium and five Saturday gameday games at The Rock, including Friday's Sun Belt Conference announced the Mountaineers' complete 2024 regular season schedule.
Friday's announcement revealed that the order and schedule of each Sun Belt game will follow the previously announced non-conference schedule for each league member. Under his head coach, the Mountaineers returned 68 percent of their total production with a nine-win season that included a Sun Belt East championship and a Cure Bowl championship, according to ESPN. The 2024 college football regular season will be 12 games, spanning 14 weeks instead of the usual 13, and App State will have more than 14 days between games and two outright byes. The last time the Mountaineers applied a true bye week to their schedule was in 2019.

The Mountaineers open the Sun Belt against South Alabama in a Thursday night home game on September 19th, then travel to Conway, South Carolina to face Coastal in a Thursday night game on November 7th — App State. During both matches their opponents will have the same preparation time. There was no short-week Thursday game in 2023, but the Mountaineers will be playing two games in the same season for the first time in the modern era.
Homecoming will be an Oct. 26 game against Georgia State in Boone. Other game designations will be announced soon.
App State is the Mountaineers' third nonconference game at East Carolina, following games against ETSU (season opener at home, Aug. 31) and Clemson (Sept. 7). The Sun Belt schedule begins with a home game at South Alabama five days after the game. ).
After concluding the non-conference portion of the schedule with a home game against Liberty on Sept. 28, the Mountaineers will play back-to-back Saturday road games against Marshall on Oct. 5 and Louisiana on Oct. 12.
After no game on Oct. 19, App State will play back-to-back home games on Saturday against Georgia State on Oct. 26 and Old Dominion on Nov. 2, before hosting Coastal Carolina five days later. Move and play the match.
After that, there was a 16-day break between games, and App State resumed play with a home game against James Madison on Nov. 23, followed by a Saturday finale at Georgia Southern on Nov. 30. Finish the regular season. Nov. 7, JMU will play games Nov. 9 and Nov. 16 before traveling to Boone on Nov. 23.
Aside from a 26-day hiatus between games due to COVID-19 during the 2020 season, the last time App State had a 16-day hiatus on its schedule was in 2017, when the Mountaineers lost Thursday's They won against Georgia Southern and had two consecutive Saturdays off before the win. 31-10 at Georgia State.
