Tyson will be 58 by the time he takes on YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul this summer, but 'AJ' has expressed concern for his idol 'Iron Mike'
Anthony Joshua predicted that Jake Paul would beat Mike Tyson due to the large age difference.
Boxing legend 'Iron Mike' will return to the ring on July 20th to take on social media star Paul in one of the biggest and most controversial matches of the year. Tyson confirmed that the fight would be sanctioned as an exhibition, but denied claims that Tyson and Paul would wear headgear and 18-ounce gloves.
Joshua, a former two-time heavyweight champion, believes Paul, who is 30 years younger than Tyson, will win this fight due to the large age difference. “he [Mike Tyson] I'm older now. I hope he comes out healthy. I think it’s because of Jake Paul’s youth, that’s all,” Joshua said about the fight while appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show.
Joshua won four straight fights and turned his boxing career around, but he might never have made it in the ring if it weren't for Tyson. “AJ”, like Tyson, got caught up in the wrong crowd when he was younger, but decided to use boxing to turn his life around.
“He was a troublesome kid until he was 13 years old, but it was because of his environment and how they structured his mindset. It wasn't just his physicality, they changed his mindset. “He was able to become heavyweight champion and showed that if you put your mind to something, you can do anything,” Joshua told iD Boxing.
“The way they shaped this kid, he wasn't a prodigy boxer, he wasn't the young kid that was painted to be world heavyweight champion. He was painted as going to jail or dying. However, he ultimately changed his story through determination, obviously met the right people, and became the youngest champion in history.
