Alex Pereira is a huge fan of heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua.
Joshua took time over the weekend to praise the UFC light heavyweight champion, tweeting that he should fight Pereira one day in boxing. Pereira has become known for his fearsome one-touch knockout power, having competed in world championships in multiple weight classes in MMA and kickboxing.
Pereira responded with gratitude and asked Joshua who he thought he should fight.

“I'm honored you think so,” Pereira wrote in response to Joshua's compliment. “It's something I've always dreamed of, but I'm 37 and can't make a career out of this, so who would you recommend I fight?”
Pereira was a long-time kickboxer and was familiar with the ring prior to his UFC debut in late 2021. He has also competed in boxing matches since June 2017, winning by third-round knockout.
In his most recent bout, Pereira picked up his second victory over Jiri Prochazka, successfully defending his light heavyweight title by defeating his rival via second-round TKO in the main event of UFC 303. Nine of Pereira's 11 MMA wins have come by way of KO/TKO.
Joshua's boxing career is going well, he's on a four-fight winning streak, and this September he'll have a chance to become heavyweight champion again when he faces Daniel Dubois for the IBF title recently vacated by Oleksandr Usyk.
