The opening game of the PFL's 2024 regular season has been officially decided.
The first event on April 4th in San Antonio will be headlined by heavyweights Ante Delja (24-5) and Valentin Moldavsky (12-3). Next week, former Bellator MMA light heavyweight champion Phil Davis (24-7) will take on 2022 PFL Champion Robert Wilkinson (17-2) in the main event in Las Vegas.
The opening round matchup will be decided on April 12th in Chicago and will be headlined by former Bellator champion Andrei Koreshkov (24-7) and PFL standout Magomed Umalatov (14-0). PFL announced all the brackets on Monday.
Beyond the main event, there are plenty of notable matchups across all six divisions. PFL acquired Bellator in a landmark deal late last year. One result of this deal is the most complete roster ever for a regular season event.
Bellator champion Liz Carmouche (20-7) will face Juliana Velasquez (12-2) for the third time on April 4th. She defeated Velasquez twice under the Bellator banner in 2022.
On the April 12 card, veteran PFL lightweight Clay Collard (24-12) will take on Patricky Pitbull, while former PFL middleweight champion Sadive Sy (16-7-2) will face this year's He will move up to 205 pounds to face Josh Silveira (12-2). 2).
2022 PFL Featherweight Champion Brendan Loughnane (27-5) will face Pedro Carvalho (13-8) on April 19th.
One notable exception to this announcement is 2023 PFL Heavyweight Champion Renan Ferreira, who knocked out Bellator Champion Ryan Bader at a special pay-per-view event last month. Ferreira has decided to forego the 2024 season to await his pending fight with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou, who lost by knockout to Anthony Joshua in his second professional boxing appearance last week.
