The four-bout fight card for the exhibition boxing match between Silva and Chael Sonnen at Spaten Fight Night has been officially announced.
Silva, a UFC Hall of Famer and former UFC middleweight champion, will face longtime MMA rival Sonnen in a five-round exhibition boxing match on June 15 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Silva and Sonnen have famously faced off twice at UFC – “The Spider” defended his title with an iconic fifth-round submission at UFC 117 in 2010 and then defeated Sonnen again with a second-round knockout at UFC 148 in 2012. Silva vs. Sonnen 1 will be part of the UFC Hall of Fame's fight wing during International Fight Week leading up to UFC 303.
Silva, 49, is 3-2 as a professional boxer, defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Tito Ortiz since retiring from mixed martial arts in 2021. He most recently lost by decision to Jake Paul.
The 47-year-old Sonnen will be making his boxing debut.
The other three bouts at Spaten Fight Night include a boxing match between Olympic medallists Esquiva Falcao and Eberto Conceição, jiu-jitsu champion Bea Mesquita making her highly anticipated mixed martial arts debut against Jorge Ramos, and a boxing match between Silva's son, Khalil Silva, and Paulo Roberto.
