Snyder was an age-group star for the USA Wrestling program out of Maryland. He was also the U20 world champion in his senior year of high school, and during his senior year of high school, he trained with many top senior athletes at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center. He then became an NCAA champion three times, a finalist at Ohio State University four times, and at the same time won World Championship and Olympic medals as a senior on his USA team. He has a rivalry with Russia's Olympic and world champion Abrasid Saadulaev in several classic world and Olympic matches, and they have great respect for each other.
Two-time world champion, 2016 Olympic bronze medalist jayden cox He's looking for a chance to play against Snyder in the championship series. Cox and Snyder had a back-and-forth match in high school, with Snyder defeating Cox in the 2015 NCAA Championships. Snyder defeated Cox for the second straight in a featured series on a super match card held in parallel to the 2022 NCAAs in Detroit. Cox won the world title at 92kg but decided to move up to 97kg in 2023. He was injured just before Final X in 2023 and was unable to challenge Snyder.
Like Snyder, Cox has consistently won medals at the world level. Cox was a three-time NCAA champion at Missouri State University, and after her senior year, she won the 86 kg weight class at the 2016 Olympic Trials. He then qualified to represent the United States at the Rio Games. Since then, he has won his two world titles, in 2022 he won a silver medal at the World Championships, in 2017 and he won a bronze medal at the World Championships in 2018. One of the top young stars in this division is the 2013 U23 World Champion Isaac Trumbull, He is also No. 3 on the senior national team for the 2023-24 season. Trumbull was second at both the 2022 and 2023 U.S. Opens. Trumbull is a two-time NCAA qualifier at North Carolina State University and is redshirting for the Olympics this year. The Nebraska native was an All-American at Junior Nationals in both freestyle and Greco-Roman. His freestyle skills have blossomed since joining the Wolfpack program.
2023 Bill Farrell International Champion michael machiavello At the 2023 Final Macchiavello is a two-time U.S. Open champion and was a gold medalist at the 2023 Pan American Championships. Macchiavello won the NCAA title at North Carolina State University in 2018 and quickly rose to prominence on the national freestyle scene after graduating and focusing on Olympic style.
nathan jackson He was runner-up at the Senior Nationals in December 2023, and 2nd place at the 2022 Final X with 92 kg. Jackson won gold at the 2024 Pan American Championships. Jackson, who was a star at Indiana University, quickly improved in freestyle, especially after he began training at his RTC in New Jersey. He placed second at the 2020 Senior Nationals with 86kg and has been very active on wrestling cards during the pandemic. After he moved up to the 97kg weight class, he won a silver medal at the Henri Degrand Challenge in France.
2023 U23 World Championship Bronze Medalist Jonathan Aiello He placed 3rd at the Senior National Championship in December 2023, earning him the right to participate in the Olympic Trials. Like the other competitors, he competed at the beginning of this Olympic cycle with 92kg. He was selected for the senior national team for the 2022-23 season. Aiello, a star athlete at the University of Virginia, was a silver medalist in the 2024 Yasar Dogu 97kg weight class in Turkey.

The final spot in the Olympic Trials went to an Oklahoma State University wrestler and two-time U20 World Team member. christian carroll, won the last chance qualifying round. He competed in Greco-Roman at the 2022 U20 World Championships and freestyle at the 2023 U20 World Championships. He was the 2021 Indiana State Junior Nationals Champion in 220-pound freestyle.
The 10 wrestlers are expected to compete in the 97kg weight class at the Olympic Trials, although weight classes and final rosters will not be finalized until weigh-ins are complete.
