It hasn't been a memorable season for Dutch outfit Vitesse, but Sunday will go down as one of the fun moments for Paxten Aaronsson and his teammates.
Aaronson scored two goals in a 3-2 home win against Fortuna Sittard and was named the SBI Americans Abroad Player of the Week. The U.S. Men's National Team midfielder played 90 minutes, scoring two points on three shots on target and winning six meetings. Aaronson scored the opening goal in the 22nd minute and the eventual winning goal in the 76th minute.
Vitesse are already certain of relegation at the end of the season, but Sunday's home win will be a positive moment for the club. Aaronson, 20, has scored four goals during his loan spell in the Netherlands.
Here are some of the other top performances from Americans abroad from last week.
Josh Sargent
Josh Sargent's goalscoring streak continued at Carrow Road on Saturday.
Sargent scored his 16th league goal as the Canaries drew 2-2 with Swansea City. The USA Men's National Team forward has helped Norwich City stay in the EFL Championship promotion race and manager David Wagner is hoping for more goals in Saturday's final game of the season.
Emmanuel Sabbi
Emmanuel Sabbi helped Le Havre to a 3-3 draw with league leaders PSG on Friday.
Sabbi recorded one assist in his 90-minute performance as Le Havre ended their losing streak at two. The 26-year-old winger won six duels, made five interceptions and set up Christopher Opera's opening goal of the match.
Sabbi has scored five goals and provided one assist for Le Havre this season.
Yunus Musa
With Sergino Dest's injury, will Yunus Musa take over the right-back role for the USMNT? we will see.
Musa played 82 minutes as a right-back in AC Milan's 0-0 draw with Juventus in Turin on Saturday. The 21-year-old completed 91% of his passes, won seven duels and made six recoveries.
Musah's versatility has continued to be on display for Stefano Pioli's side this spring, and his debut at right-back could open up a new role for him going forward.
Dante Polvara
Aberdeen secured an important win at home on Saturday with Dante Polvara in action in midfield.
Polbara led all players in duels won (13), fouls drawn (4) and dribbles completed (3) as Aberdeen defeated Motherwell 1-0. The 23-year-old has rejoined the team in recent weeks and stepped up significantly in the must-win game against Pittodrie.
What did you think of their individual performances this past week? Was there anyone left off the list that you would have added?
