The NCAA Hodge Trophy was created in 1995 in memory of former NCAA champion and Olympic medalist Dan Hodge. Hodge is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and finished his collegiate career with a 46-0 record, including 36 pins.
Since its inception, the Hodge Trophy has been awarded to the season's most effective NCAA wrestler and has produced multiple Olympic medalists.
