The Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday grounded all Alaska Airlines flights after the airline said it encountered problems while trying to upgrade its weight and balance calculation system. Flights were allowed to resume about an hour later.
In an emailed statement, the airline said all flights, including those on Alaska Airlines' Horizon Airlines, were suspended from 7:30 a.m. Pacific time to 8:30 a.m. PT “out of an abundance of caution.” Alaska Airlines has since resumed operations, but delays are expected throughout the day. The FAA confirmed that operations are returning to normal.

There are 12 Alaska Airlines flights scheduled to both Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field, according to Cirium data. Two Seattle flights were scheduled at Love Field, one inbound and one in return. DFW Airport has 10 Alaska Airlines flights to and from Seattle and Portland. At least two of those DFW flights were delayed.
The airline is asking travelers to check flight status on its website or app before heading to the airport.
