Jalen Milroe will return as the quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team for the 2024 season, looking to build on his performance from 2023. Currently, he enters the new season hailed as one of the most versatile quarterbacks in the country.
After winning a preseason quarterback battle that included himself, Tyler Buchner and Ty Simpson, Milroe was benched for the road game against USF in Week 3. Milroe steadily improved over the remainder of the season and is now a contender for the Heisman Trophy in 2024.
CBS Sports recently ranked the top 10 dynamic quarterbacks, and Milroe came out on top as the most dynamic quarterback in college football.
Milro completed 187 of 284 pass attempts for 2,834 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions in 2023. On the ground, Milro had 161 carries for 531 yards and 12 touchdowns.
His versatility adds an extra level of danger to Alabama's offense, and opposing defenses will have to be prepared for it.
With just a bit more improvement, Milroe could remain a Heisman Trophy candidate, lead the Crimson Tide to the College Football Playoff again and be in contention for a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
