One of the concerns for Karen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team heading into the 2024 season is who will replace Will Reichard as Tuscaloosa's placekicker.
Reichard was the NCAA's all-time leading scorer and one of the most consistent kickers in college football history.
Well, Coach DeVore and company may have found a replacement for Reichard, but I'm not sure they could have written a better script.
According to On3's Pete Nakos, Alabama became the clubhouse leader in acquiring Graham Nicholson via Miami, Ohio in the transfer portal.
If the name sounds familiar, it should. Nicholson beat out Reichard in 2023 to win the Lou Groza Award, given to the nation's top placekicker.
A first-team All-American in 2023, he finished on 27 of 28 field goal attempts. Nicholson made 25 consecutive field goals in a season, setting a record for consecutive attempts.
Roll Tide Wire will continue to monitor Nicholson's decision throughout the process and will provide updates as they become available.
