The University of Alabama's coaching staff has been relentless in its recruiting efforts over the past two months. On Saturday afternoon, the hard work paid off. 2025 four-star athlete Zymir Smith announced her commitment to Alabama. Smith chose the Crimson Tide over other programs such as Georgia and Tennessee.
Smith received an offer from Alabama's coaching staff in February. Since then, he has remained in contact with the coaching staff. Smith recently took an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa to participate in Alabama's third spring practice on Friday afternoon.
Smith plays at North Carolin High School in Denton, Maryland. His height is listed as 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds. He is being scouted to play defensively at the college level. Smith had 22 tackles and three interceptions as a junior.
He is the fourth player to commit to the Crimson Tide as part of the 2025 freshman class. He joins defensive lineman Antonio Coleman, linebacker Myles Johnson and running back Anthony Rodgers.
