This selection marks the first time since the 2016-17 season that the Falcons have had three players earn spots on one of three teams (Phil Borje on the first team, Jordan Himley on the second team, Shane Starrett third team). Gavin is the first Falcon to earn first-team honors since goaltender Billy Christopoulos in the 2017-18 season.
Gavin, a left wing from Durham, Conn., led the conference and ranked 19th.th Domestically, he has scored 19 goals in all games this season. His 19 goals are the most by a Falcon player since Jordan Himley's 22 goals in the 2016-17 season. Gavin's 11 power play goals lead the AHA and rank fourth in the nation. This was the most since Jacques Lamoureux had 13 in the 2010-11 season. His 36 points (19 wins, 17 losses, 36 draws) were tied for fourth in the league. In conference games, Gavin led the league in points with 15 and was third with 29 points. He was once named AHA Player of the Week and was also named AHA Player of the Month in January. He led the nation with two hat tricks this season. The conference honor is the first of his career.
Hedden, a defenseman from Kalamazoo, Michigan, finished the season with 37 points in 38 games (8-29-37). He led the league and was fourth nationally in his scoring as a defensive player. He led the team in both points (37) and blocked shots (54). Hedden is the fourth defenseman in school history to lead the team in scoring on a season. His 37 points are the most by a Falcon defenseman since Greg Flynn had 42 points in the 2008-09 season. Hedden's 29 assists were the third-most since Air Force joined the conference (since 1999) and tied for the most since Flynn's 35 in 2008-09. Hedden, an All-Rookie selection last season, was named AHA Defensive Player of the Week twice this season and was named AHA Defensive Player of the Month in November. In conference play, he led all players with 23 assists, and his 28 points ranked fourth among all players and tops among defensemen.
Lowe, a defenseman from Succasuna, N.J., was a team captain for three years and is a Hobey Baker Award nominee as college hockey's top player. He was named AHA Defensive Player of the Week four times and was also named AHA Defensive Player of the Month in October. Despite missing three games, he was third on the team in points (6-23-29) and second in blocked shots (46). He was third in the league in assists as a defensive player in both all games and league play. Lowe led the team with nine multi-point games and was named All-AHA second team as a junior.
