Eugene, Oregon – All-CIF selections Kate Kubiak and Kylie Fehrenbacher will join the soccer team as freshmen this fall, head coach Graham Abel announced Wednesday.
Fehrenbacher, a San Diego native, led Point Loma High School to the California Division 1 semifinals in 2022 and the league championship in 2023. Kubiak, a native of Newport Beach, Calif., was an integral part of the Newport Harbor High School team. He won the Wave League Championship in 2021 and 2022.

Point Loma High School, Club: Albion SC / DMCV Sharks
He was named all-district, all-section and all-state after leading Point Loma High School to a league championship and the CIF state semifinals. He was named to the CIF Division 1 First Team for the 2022-23 season after Point Loma won the league title. In 2022, Point Loma was a semifinalist in CIF Division 1 and a finalist in the CIF Open Division League. He was named Rookie of the Year on both Point Loma's junior varsity team (2020-21) and varsity team (2021-22). Her club team, Albion SC, won the Copa del Mar Cup in 2022. She was selected to the Southwest League's second team in 2023 and played for the DMCV Sharks. In her classroom, she earned a spot on the CIF Division 1 All-Academic Team and was selected as one of the top 9% of California students.

He led his team to the Wave League Championship in 2021 and 2022. In 2024, Newport Harbor finished with a 14-6-4 regular season record and qualified for the CIF Tournament. captain of the team.
