Social media star Abdu Rojic has vowed to “beat” Hasbullah, who weighs in at just under 64lb, for his boxing debut tomorrow night in Dubai.
The Tajik singer has a long-standing rivalry with Hasboro, but will be making his first major foray into the world of mixed martial arts in a headlining bout at Coca-Cola Arena's Social Knockout 3. He will face fellow influencer Elali Boykovilov in what he hopes will be the first of many social media battles.
The Dubai card will feature Abdu Rojic and Ellali Boikovilov as well as Misfits Boxing stars Salt Papi and Fox “The G” Townley, as well as the boxing debut of former UFC star Darren Till and YouTuber MoVlogs.
Abdu Rojic weighs in at 63 pounds for boxing debut
The 20-year-old, 3-foot-8-inch-tall Abdu Rojic weighed in at 28.6 kilograms, or just over 63 pounds, while his rival Elali Boykovilov weighed in at 30 kilograms, or just over 66 pounds. However, because Boykovilov was wearing a full suit when he stepped on the scale, their weights were probably closer.
The two then faced off, but Abdu Rojczyk chose not to waste time on a hooded standoff, and at one point Boykovilov tried to punch him, which Rojc accepted as promoter Tam Khan looked on gleefully.
It was part of an eventful weigh-in that also included the return of Salt Papi and a shoving match between Darren Till and rival Mo Moutier. The Palestinian-born mixed martial artist reminded his opponent of the knockouts he has suffered in his career, most famously against Jorge Masvidal in London.
However, Till wasn't drawn into any further action and continued to fight. Other highlights included an appearance by Fox the G and an appearance by MoVlogs, one of the biggest stars on social media in the Middle East.
Abdul Rojik vows to 'crush' Hasboro in grudge war
No matter what, any discussion of Abdu Rojic and martial arts will always come down to his biggest rival, Hasbullah. The two have been feuding for years, ever since a video of the two fighting in Russia went viral on YouTube.
But with Abdu Rojic stepping into the ring first of the two, he is keen for the bout to happen. “I’m going to knock this guy out and then I’m going to buy Hasbro a handbag afterwards,” he told Fred Talks Fighting in an interview at the weigh-in.
“He doesn't want to fight because he's scared. Husbler, I want to smash this guy, that little guy. And then I want to smash him. And secondly, you, baby.”
Abdu Rojic has been training for the fight for a long time and told host Fred Beck: “I work so hard every day. I prepare, I take ice baths, I train for three hours, I've been waiting for this moment for a long time.”
“It's going to be a tough fight tomorrow. I don't know if people think it's fake or something, but you're going to think, 'What kind of fight are they going to make?' It's going to be a crazy fight, actually. I'm not kidding. I've been training for a month. I want to learn boxing and get better. It's made me stronger and I feel like a man when I box.”
