The NHL's preseason schedule has been condensed across the league, giving avid hockey fans the opportunity to take some local road trips. Whether you want to make a trip to the Bay Area or fly to Denver to enjoy the crisp mountain air, the schedule offers Vegas Golden Knights fans that luxury. For all 32 teams, these games mean hockey is coming up.
Now, you’re probably thinking…
“Why does this matter? These games are just tryouts for players hoping to make an NHL roster. They have no value.”
Here's the thing, dear reader. Traveling is the essence of life, as it allows you to experience different cultures and aspects. It broadens your worldview and opens your eyes to try new things. Maybe you're itching to watch a New York Rangers game at Madison Square Garden. Or maybe you've always wanted to sing “Chelsea Dagger” at the United Center.
Experiences like these are what makes being a hockey fan fun, especially when visiting different cities around the world. Think about how awesome it will be to go to an NHL Global Series game when it's finally your turn to play the Vegas Golden Knights. It will also be awesome to visit countries like Sweden or the Czech Republic. That's what the NHL preseason is about – to get fans ready for an exciting season with travel, new experiences, and above all, hockey.
Maybe you're not so keen on traveling. Maybe you have a fear of flying. Or maybe you're nervous about being stuck in a car for at least six hours. Don't worry. The Vegas Golden Knights have four home games scheduled this preseason, including matchups against the Los Angeles Kings (September 25th) and Utah Hockey Club (September 27th). Fans can get their hockey fix with pre-game festivities and in-game experiences at T-Mobile Arena.
The two away games are against San Jose at SAP Center on Sept. 22 and the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena on Oct. 1. The Sharks have been a regular Vegas foe throughout franchise history, with both teams winning playoff series against each other. The Avalanche, on the other hand, have been a competitive team in recent years. In fact, they won their third Stanley Cup in franchise history in 2022.
The two remaining home games are against Colorado on October 3 and against San Jose on October 5. Coincidentally, both teams will face Las Vegas on the road in their final two home games. This schedule provides fans with the opportunity to plan a nice fall trip to the West Coast or the Rocky Mountains. So, Golden Knights fans, get ready to plan a trip for an overnight or two. Hockey season comes around in the blink of an eye, with the preseason leading the way.
