Oklahoma State made an offer to three-star rookie defensive end Caleb Smith on March 7th. Smith is very impressed with what Oklahoma State has to offer and appears to have a solid chance of securing his commitment in the future.
All Pokes was able to speak with Smith a bit and glean his thoughts on Oklahoma State and how the Cowboys' staff has reached out to him.
Smith first came into contact with Oklahoma State through Stillwater's new defensive line coach, Paul Randolph. When Randolph was at Indiana University, he already had some relationship with the Parker High School product.
“He's a great coach, smart, motivating, and funny. He's a great guy to talk to and I love having conversations with him,” Smith said of Paul Randolph.
He also spoke highly of the football program as a whole, as well as the atmosphere on game day.
“OSU is a great all-around team, so it would be really exciting to play for them. They're the best in the conference and the atmosphere on game day looks great,” Smith said.
He agreed to stay in town for spring practice and is scheduled to take an official visit to Stillwater.
Oklahoma State should have a good chance of acquiring Smith, especially considering he will likely receive an official visit. His recruiting journey is far from concluded or even close, but it's certainly something to keep an eye on as his process progresses.
Caleb Smith is rated as the No. 675 overall prospect (No. 64 on EDGE) in the 2025 class. According to 247 Sports, he is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 265 pounds. He currently plays at Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He holds offers from some of his four power schools, including Washington, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisville.
