Basketball spots have been decided for the 2024 Paris Olympics. There are three groups, Groups A, B, and C, each with four teams participating.
The U.S. team will be in Group C along with Serbia, South Sudan and Puerto Rico, the winners of the Olympic qualifying tournament. The tournament will feature Mexico, Puerto Rico, Lithuania, Italy, Bahrain and Ivory Coast, with the winners advancing to Group C.
Meanwhile, Group B includes Germany, France, Japan and the winners of the Lativa Olympic Qualification Tournament. Georgia, the Philippines, Brazil, Montenegro, Cameroon and Latvia will compete for this spot.
Finally, Group A will include Australia, Canada, the winners of the Spanish Olympic Qualifying Tournament, and the winners of the Greek Olympic Qualifying Tournament (via Associated Press). Spain, Lebanon, Poland, Finland, Angola and the Bahamas will play in the Spanish qualifying tournament, while Greece, Croatia, New Zealand, Slovenia, Egypt and the Dominican Republic will play in the Greek qualifying tournament.
During the Olympics, each team will compete in three group stage games. The top two teams from each group and his top two third place teams will advance to the quarterfinals and win the gold medal.
Team USA will be the favorite to win gold at this summer's Paris Olympics. The United States has won the gold medal in men's basketball at each of the past four Olympics. The last time they lost was at the 2004 Athens Olympics, when Argentina finished third and won the gold medal.
The U.S. basketball team is expected to have a star lineup for this summer's Olympics. Several star NBA players have requested to join the team, including legends such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid.

The Paris Olympic basketball competition begins on July 27th. The men's quarterfinals begin on August 6th and the women's quarterfinals on August 7th. The men's gold medal match will be held on August 10th and the women's gold medal match on August 11th. .
