Leonard Ellerbe talks about a number of topics in the boxing world, including the negative perception of PBC as a failed business and people who believe Canelo Alvarez is afraid to go into a fight with David Benavidez. He told Hub TV. Check out some of what he had to say below. The full interview is at the top.
Mr. Elleube talks about PBC's lack of funding
“You've got to take it from the source. No matter who puts this information out there, take it from the source. We're running a business and we're fighting the biggest fights possible across sports. . PBC has been putting on the biggest fights for a long time and that's where the focus is.”
Regarding whether the relationship between PBC and Oscar De La Hoya has been repaired sufficiently to enable them to work together more effectively.
“It's always been that way. If the fight has meaning, then you can fight. Oscar is just a clown and everyone knows that, and that's why no one takes him on. [personally]. Eric has the utmost respect for him. He's a soldier, he's a soldier, he's very knowledgeable, and he's been running the company for years now since Schaefer was gone. ”
On how I view the whole Canelo vs. Benavidez situation.
“Well, one thing I know is that Canelo and Eddie Reynoso are very smart, savvy businessmen. Canelo Alvarez can tell fans that he's not scared of David Benavidez. That's not true.
“If they fight, I think it's going to be a great fight. It's going to be the biggest fight in boxing at that point…I think it's going to happen.”
