Syracuse, N.Y. — The 2024 Summer Olympics may not be on the schedule for Section 3 athletes, but many track and field athletes are aiming for Olympic gold someday.
At syracuse.com's Spring High School Sports Media Day presented by Rainbow Lettering, we asked Section III girls track and field athletes which of their teammates has the best chance of taking home a gold medal one day.
Here's what they said:
“She loves running and always puts in a lot of effort. She has a really great passion for it.” — Eva Davis
“She's been doing indoors lately and had a really good season. … She played soccer, so I think she has speed because of that. And she has a really good work ethic. I have it.” — Eddie Livingston
“She plays a lot of sports. She's very athletic. So she's likely to win in a lot of different events.” — Bryn Marvin
“She's our MVP. If you put her in any event, she'll do it, whether it's the 100-meter run, the 2-mile run, the pole vault, the high jump.” — Hayley Deville
“She understood the mindset. Just her work ethic and everything she put into it.” — Madison Rosfeld

“She's the most versatile player on the team. Honestly, she could do it all. You could put her on the track and she'd do it better than anyone else.” — Hannah Wagner
