St. Ignatius (San Francisco, California) 2025 Offensive Tackle John Mills USC was added to the 6-foot-6, 320-pound Mills' final list as he announced his list of top six schools today on X/Twitter. The Trojans will now compete with Texas, Nebraska, Florida, Washington State and California for Mills' involvement.
trojan horse First offer made to San Francisco native in June 2023. And I plan to take him on an official visit next June. Mills told AllBruins.com that academics play a big role in his recruitment. Official visits to Texas, Washington state, and California are also scheduled for this summer, but the University of Southern California will be the last official visit of a series of official visits from late May to late June.
247Sports also reported that he plans to send officials to Nebraska and Florida, but no dates have been set yet.
The Trojans' offensive coaching staff continuing to undergo a complete overhaul of the defense should bode well for Mill's recruitment to USC. Mills is currently the second of two offensive linemen that USC has scheduled visits so far, the other being a four-star (On3) prospect out of Mississippi State, Mario Nash will be a senior in the fall.
USC just graduated a 2024 recruiting class that featured five offensive linemen (two tackles), followed by a 2023 recruiting class that also featured five offensive linemen.
While the OL position may not be an immediate need for the Trojans, acquiring Landing Mills, who recently acquired the West Catholic Athletic League's most valuable offensive lineman, Champ Taurealeawould be a big win up front for Josh Henson's unit.
