The U.S. men's national soccer team will look to win its third straight Concacaf Nations League title when it faces rival Mexico on Sunday night.
The USMNT won both the 2021 and 2023 Concacaf Nations League.
It took something close to a miracle for the United States to get this far. Trailing 1-0 for much of the game, an own goal late in stoppage time sent Thursday's semifinal against Jamaica into overtime, where the USMNT pulled away and won 3-1. In the other semi-final, Mexico had little trouble against Panama, winning 3-0.
USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter hopes to use the final two Concacaf Nations League games as a springboard for this summer's Copa America, which will be held in the United States from June 20 to July 14. The USMNT was drawn in a group with Bolivia and Panama. And Uruguay in that tournament. Meanwhile, Mexico is in the same group as Ecuador, Jamaica, and Venezuela.
