It might be called “Frozen Four,” but the best college hockey team is about to bring some heat to the ice.
Championship season is here in the NCAA. The top 16 teams in college hockey will head to four different regions for the start of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, after which the remaining four teams will head to Minnesota for the Frozen Four.
For much of the 2023-24 regular season, Boston College and Boston University competed for the top spot in the nation. Hockey East His two powerhouse programs in his conference will have plenty of power from their freshman stars. The Terriers have Maclin Celebrini, who is expected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, while the Eagles have dangerous 2023 first-round picks Will Smith, Ryan Leonard, and Gabe Perreault. They have a trio of first-year players.
Quinnipiac, on the other hand, enters the tournament as the defending national champions. The Bobcats won the program's first national title last April, beating Minnesota in the 2023 Frozen 4 Championship when Quinnipiac forward Jacob Killan scored in the opening seconds of overtime.

2024 NCAA Hockey Tournament Bracket
Sixteen teams will participate in the tournament, and only the top four teams will be officially seeded nationally. In 2024, Boston University will be the top seed, while rival Boston University will be the second seed. The University of Denver will be the No. 3 seed and Michigan State will be the No. 4 seed.
The four winners from each region will compete in the national semifinals as the Frozen Four. The winners of the two semifinals will play in the championship game for the right to be national champion.
