Orange County's only professional soccer team tied the game in its home opener over the weekend.
Behind halftime, the team scored their second goal on a corner kick just before the 70-minute mark, defeating Miami FC by 2 in front of enthusiastic fans at Championship Soccer Stadium at Irvine Great Park. We held it to a -2 draw.
Orange County Soccer Club plays in the United Soccer League, a Division II league that includes more than 30 teams from across the United States.
The regular season ends in October.
The team will play FC Tulsa again on March 30th at Championship Soccer Stadium. The game will be preceded by a beer festival, the first of five planned throughout the season. Please see the website for detailed dates and information.
The team tied their first game of the season against the Sacramento Republic 2-2 and won 2-0 against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, leaving them in a three-way tie for first place in the league's Western Conference.
