The ever-controversial Jake Paul recently announced his return to the ring, scheduled for July 20th. “Problem Child” will face the legendary Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. 'Iron Mike' has not competed since a stoppage loss to Kevin McBride in June 2005, but is ready to return to face Paul this summer.
Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson: Everything we know about Netflix's first boxing event
Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson has attracted a lot of criticism, but it will be one of the most-watched sporting events of 2024.
With that in mind, let's take a look back at this YouTuber turned boxer's entire career. Say what you will about the controversial influencer fighter, but he has put in some good performances so far. But not all of his performances are the same, as Paul also had some stinkers.

Jake Paul's recent matches are his worst performance yet. Yes, on paper, this victory looks great. “The Problem Child” came forward and dominated Ryan Borland, 17-2, earning a first-round knockout victory. Unfortunately, this battle didn't happen on paper.
In reality, Paul walked forward, knowing full well that “The Rhino” was nothing more than a heavy bag. The former YouTuber fired a series of power shots and swung wildly until he was stopped, but there was little response. He finished his work quickly, but it was very sloppy.

It feels like a long time ago, but in August 2021, Jake Paul faced Tyron Woodley in his hometown of Cleveland. “The Chosen One” ended his UFC career with four consecutive losses, but he entered the boxing ring in search of a big payday.
Paul was an incredibly junior boxer, and Woodley wasn't known for his striking anyway. Neither fighter had much success throughout the eight rounds, with the YouTuber winning by split decision. It wasn't without controversy, however, as Paul was shaken in the fourth round, but the referee missed a knockdown when he used the ropes to support his body.

The rematch between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley was even worse than the first. The former UFC champion stepped up after Tommy Fury withdrew from fighting the YouTuber at the end of 2022. The fight was close throughout the five rounds, with neither fighter throwing much.
However, Paul ended the rivalry in the sixth round with a monster right hand. Woodley was sent to the canvas out cold, and the YouTuber wiped out a brutal five-round fight with one shot.

To be fair to Jake Paul, the fact that this loss was so high on his list says a lot about his development. Last February, the YouTuber finally faced Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia. Both were scheduled for the previous event, and “TNT” withdrew.
The British boxer dominated much of the fight, using only his jab to keep Paul at bay throughout eight rounds. Paul took a big knockdown in the final round, but lost by decision.

Jake Paul's professional boxing match began in early 2020 with fellow YouTuber Ahn Eson Gibb. This match was supposed to be a possible match against KSI if “Problem Child” won. Although he never faced a “nightmare”, he ended up controlling his friend.
Paul scored multiple knockdowns and ultimately finished the bout in round one. Performance-wise, it couldn't have been easier.

The theme of Jake Paul's career so far is that he has consistently dominated in several key areas. Usually those are size, age, experience in the ring, etc. Against former NBA player Nate Robinson, he had all three.
Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson (& The Greatest Freakshow Fight in Boxing History)
When 57-year-old Mike Tyson steps into the boxing ring with Jake Paul, it's the latest freakshow fight in boxing history.
Robinson had never hung up gloves before signing a deal to face Paul on the 2020 Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. undercard. As expected, the former basketball player was knocked out in the second round.

We don't understand why Triller Fight Club decided to pay Ben Askren to box. “Funky” is considered by all to be the worst high-profile striker in modern mixed martial arts history. Askren's wrestling is so good that he admits that during his career he didn't even take batting practice. Oh, and he retired and had a hip replacement for 2021.
Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury (9 other mixed martial arts boxing matches)
Many MMA fighters, like Francis Ngannou, have turned to boxing, some unsuccessful and others successful.
That made him an easy target for Jake Paul. Askren built the fight well and the two sold around 500,000 pay-per-views. However, the fight was just a formality, with the YouTuber winning by first round stoppage.

Jake Paul's win over Ryan Bolland was a squash match, but Andre August actually came to fight. The two faced each other in December 2023, and the boxer was in great form with a record of 10 wins, 1 loss, and 1 loss. He talked a lot of trash to Paul and actually tried to throw punches on fight night.
In the end, he landed a picture-perfect uppercut in round one. Paul scored his first meaningful victory against a well-known professional boxer, scoring a knockout victory.

Last August, Jake Paul made a big step up from eight rounds to 10 rounds. In his first 10-round bout, he faced former UFC title challenger Nate Diaz. Although the Stockton native was years past his best, he still had some boxing skill, exceptional cardio and endurance.
Diaz showed his aerobic ability and had some bright spots, but this was mainly a great performance from Paul. He got knocked down early and kept the pressure on late to earn a unanimous decision victory.

Jake Paul probably never got the recognition he deserved for defeating Anderson Silva. Yes, “The Spider” was much older, years past his prime. Still, he had ring experience, having defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. the year before facing Paul.
However, the Brazilian player was outboxed by a former YouTuber in October 2022. Paul also knocked down Silva en route to a unanimous decision victory.
