Maurice Chan, a famous Hollywood stuntman and fight choreographer who has worked on blockbusters such as “John Wick'' and the James Bond film “Spectre,'' is a 15-year-old with experience in Bokator and Khmer martial arts for the film project. He said he was looking for a young Cambodian man.
Speaking to Kampuchea Tomei, Mr Chan was in Cambodia for a week to recruit for a project on drug trafficking.
Mr. Chan said he came to Cambodia to shoot a short film to share the experience, knowledge and skills he has cultivated in Hollywood films with talented young Cambodians.
“This is what I have been aiming for for years. I think Cambodian youth have a lot of martial arts talent, but they don't have the opportunity.
So I will share my personal experience with young Cambodians to understand how to perform standard martial arts. Cambodian youth are like raw diamonds, and we make them shine. ”
“I have a lot of personal projects and I also want to bring a French film crew to shoot in Cambodia,” he said.
“I didn't come here to pick talented young people myself. If foreign productions like France or America are interested, they will bring in young Cambodians. This is my big goal. ”
Chan said the Cambodian-made martial arts film will be released online for viewers in Cambodia and around the world.
He will spend two weeks filming in Cambodia before returning to France before the traditional Khmer New Year.
