Perhaps the biggest game is between Chaminade-Madonna (14-0), Florida's top-ranked team from last season and the No. 3 team in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 finals, and California's St. John's Bosco ( It will probably be a matchup against the U.S. (11 wins, 0 losses). 2), the CIF Southern Section Division 1 champion and his No. 12 team in the final Power 25.

St. Thomas Aquinas, who won their fifth consecutive state championship in Florida, won 12-0 against Bishop Gorman of Nevada, finishing in fourth place in the final rankings. And then there's Western, an upstart program from South Florida, and Hoover, an iconic Alabama powerhouse looking to bounce back from a rare losing season. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the once-popular MTV series “Two-A-Days,” starring the Hoover Buccaneers.
The event begins with two games on Thursday, Aug. 22, and one game on Aug. 23 with an all-Florida matchup (see detailed schedule below). Stay tuned to SBLive in the coming weeks for schedule and game time updates for Saturday's four games. The specific games will be televised on ESPN. Broward County Classic co-founder Kevin Perry is a Virginia native and has extensive experience organizing these types of bowl game events during his time in the Michigan area, when the game was played at the University of Michigan. Perry played high school ball at Allegany High School (West Virginia) and then played collegiately at Emory & Henry College and Bridgewater College.
In addition to the generous help of the Broward Education Foundation, James Knapp, Kyle Barfield, co-founder Shawn Cerra, Prep Gridiron Logistics' Joe Maimone, and Prep Redzone's Larry Blustein, Perry believes it would be impossible to hold this event every year. I feel that it is.
