Third quarter report
Fortunes may turn around for the Grizzlies, who have lost four straight. At the end of the third quarter, neither team had a lead, but the Grizzlies led the Spurs 71-68. The Grizzlies took a big hit to their ego last Wednesday, so a win here would be a welcome boost.
If the Grizzlies continue to play like this, their record will soon improve to 24 wins and 47 losses. Meanwhile, the Spurs will enter the deadline with a 15-55 record unless they turn things around (and quickly).

What you need to know
The Spurs are 0-10 against the Grizzlies since December 2021, but will have a chance to close the gap a bit on Friday. The San Antonio Spurs will remain at home and host the Memphis Grizzlies at Frostbank Center on March 22nd at 8pm ET. Both teams lost in their previous matches, so there will be plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Spurs have had a rough road this past season, but unfortunately it's still not a smooth road for them. They lost to Dallas 113-107. Unfortunately, the Spurs continued their disappointing trend against the Mavericks, with the Spurs losing four straight.
Despite the loss, the Spurs had a solid performance from Tre Jones, who shot 4-of-5 from beyond the arc and had a near double-double with 22 points and nine assists.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies' recent rough run got a little rough Wednesday after losing their fourth straight game. The heartbreaking 137-116 loss to Golden State may stick around for a while. The Grizzlies certainly knew they were at a points disadvantage, but that foresight didn't hinder the outcome.
However, this loss doesn't tell the whole story as several players played well. Gregory Jackson was the most active, with 35 points and 5 rebounds. In fact, this is the most points he has scored all season. Santi Aldama was also a key contributor, scoring a near double-double with 27 points and nine rebounds.
San Antonio has struggled recently, losing four of its past five games, a notable dent in its 15-54 record this season. It was Memphis' third consecutive loss on the road, dropping its record to 23 wins and 47 losses.
Looking ahead, experts predict that Spurs will win by 6.5 points, so Spurs will be the favorites to win this game. This game will be their sixth straight home game (so far they are 3-1 against the spread).
The Spurs started the new year with a not-so-successful 106-98 loss to the Grizzlies. Could the Spurs have better luck at home instead of on the road?
