Lately, USC Trojans co-defensive coordinator, defensive line coach and run game coordinator Eric Henderson has been making noise about some big rumors. The former Los Angeles Rams coach has poured fuel on social media rumors about recently retired future Hall of Fame defensive edge rusher Aaron Donald.
Donald missed working with Henderson and was told he might be able to join USC's staff now that he's retired. Henderson responded to the rumor by posting a wide-eyed emoji considering the reality of Donald joining the coaching staff.
Henderson appeared on NFL Report and further weighed in on this rumor.
Henderson said Donald plans to enjoy time with his family before making a decision about his football future. Still, Henderson keeps the rumors spinning by posting his wide-eyed emoji. Maybe he just likes using that emoji.
This is all pure speculation at this point, but Donald may want to stay involved in the football world. If he takes over as the Trojans' coach, USC will have the best player available for the game on its coaching staff.
This is something to keep an eye on, as his experience and knowledge could greatly help the Trojans' defense going forward. But perhaps that's just Henderson turning the wheel in hopes of his friend joining the staff.
