ABA and BIBA join forces – mutual partnership between British amateur and professional boxing bodies

All parties agree to mutual membership following a meeting between Amateur Boxing Alliance (ABA) Directors and British Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA) Vice-Chairman Gianluca Di Caro at the London Military Boxing Club in Bromley. Agreed in principle.

This historic agreement not only provides a clear path for amateur boxers seeking promotion to the ranks of professional boxing, but also provides a series of professional/amateur tournaments in which the ABA will sanction amateur boxing contests and BIBA will sanction professional boxing. This will provide a clear path to compete nationally. Contest.

In addition, the two organizations are collaborating on the development of international tournaments and international pro/am series. Pro/Am tournaments are currently planned in Malta, Cyprus, Egypt and Israel, with more countries to be announced in the coming months.
