The way the otherwise successful 2023 season ended left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. As soon as the first round of the regional tournament was over, we all got straight to work. Many of the boys enrolled in local leagues during the summer, participated in club soccer in the fall, and participated in indoor practice and weight training during the winter.

Coach Wendtland went on to talk about how honored he has been working with this team this year, calling them “some of the most coachable, dedicated people I've ever had the privilege of working with.” It’s a group of players.”
They continue to grow throughout the season and have the discipline and determination to prove they can be competitive against any opponent. Very impressed with their progress and attitude in his first two weeks of practice.
Wendtland also highlighted the players he expects to be leaders on the field for the team this season. The team returns two all-conference players in Philiberto “Junior” Benitez and Cristian Perez. Benitez, a senior, was the Tigers' leading scorer last season and earned all-conference honors at the forward position. He will be the captain again this year. Perez is a junior and was all-conference last season as a midfielder.
Other captains are defenders Jared Swafford and Jose Tenorio. Senior goaltender Seth Atkinson is also named as this year's captain.
Coach Wendtland also cited seniors William Hamilton and Anthony Triminio as players he considers to be leaders this year, along with junior Carlos Macias.
