Welcome to Midnight Mania!
UFC heavyweight veteran Walt Harris won't be seen inside the Octagon any time soon.
Harris' scheduled match against Josh Parisien in July 2023 was canceled due to a positive drug test. Harris blamed the cancellation and failed drug test on contaminated supplements, but there has been no update on how his case has progressed since then. At the time, he was working with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), but the company that now oversees the UFC's drug testing is Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD).
CSAD does not seem to accept the excuse that supplements are contaminated. The UFC released an official statement early Wednesday (March 20, 2024) detailing the CSAD's decision, disclosing all the substances Harris failed on, and announcing a mass suspension. You can read the details of this statement below, but in short, Harris blasted testing of two anabolic steroids (drostanalon and testosterone) and an aromatase inhibitor (anastrozole). The idea is that these can help prevent estrogen levels from rising during steroid use. cycle.
As a result of that nuclear urine incident, Harris accepted a 48-month suspension. He will not be eligible to return until July 2027, at which point Harris will be 44 years old.
Check out the UFC statement below.
Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) announced today that Walt Harris, of Pelham, Alabama, has accepted a 48-month sanction for two separate violations of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.
Mr. Harris found that samples taken on June 24, 2023 and July 12, 2023 showed drostanalon, its metabolite 3a-hydroxy-2a-methyl-5a-androstan-17-one, and exogenous agents. This was the first time I had a positive test result for sexual testosterone. Adverse Findings on July 11, 2023.
Harris then provided urine and blood samples on August 6, 2023, after being informed of the adverse findings on June 23, 2023. His urine sample tested positive for the presence of anastrozole, a new banned substance not found in any drugs. Previous sample, Drostanolone and its metabolites. His blood sample tested positive for the presence of exogenous testosterone, and based on that value, a new dose was decided upon since the first adverse finding was notified on July 11, 2023. Drostanolone and testosterone are anabolic steroids and are always prohibited under the law. UFC Anti-Doping Policy (UFC ADP) and UFC Prohibited List. Anastrozole is an aromatase inhibitor, which is also consistently prohibited on the UFC ADP and UFC Prohibited Lists.
Harris' 48-month period of disqualification began on July 11, 2023, when he was notified of his interim suspension following his first positive test result.
Perhaps CSAD is not as lenient as fans expected?
Prior to his suspension, Harris had lost three consecutive games, all due to suspension. Given his age, losing streak and suspension, Harris may end up retiring. Or he could request to be released from the promotion and take his talents elsewhere.

Canelo Alvarez says, “Show me the money!” There are a lot of zeros.
Canelo Alvarez told reporters he wants $150 million or $200 million to fight David Benavidez. “If the promoter offers me $150 million/$200 million, I'm going to fight tomorrow, not him because the promoter has nothing to offer me.” That's the only reason to fight. ”

It's hard to sympathize with Sean Strickland when he's the villain most of the time.
Every once in a while, you'll see clips of Conor McGregor, which are really likable and funny.
Zhang Weili is one of the best sidekicks in the industry.

Dagestan Basketball is my favorite MMA derivative sport.
I feel sorry for Benoît Saint-Denis. Facing a severe staph infection, the French fighter had to choose between slowing down his fight or angering the UFC by withdrawing from his fight with Dustin Poirier. There are no win situations!
