All four SEC opponents the Volunteers travel to in 2024 will return to Neyland Stadium in 2025. In 2025, Tennessee will play the four SEC opponents it will host in 2024.
Similar to the 2024 SEC football schedule, during the 2025 season, each team will play eight conference games plus one required opponent from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, or Major Independent. We will be competing against each other. Schedule details for the 2025 football season will be announced at a later date.
The Vols will make familiar trips to Alabama, Florida and Kentucky before facing Mississippi State at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville for the first time since 2012.
Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma State and Vanderbilt visit Neyland Stadium. This will be the first time since 2015 that Tennessee will host both Arkansas and Oklahoma State.
The Vols will open the 2025 season with a Chick-fil-A kickoff game against Syracuse on Aug. 30 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The stadium will also serve as the site for the SEC Championship Game and the College Football Playoff semifinals in January 2026.
The 2025 schedule format was approved last week by a vote of the SEC President and Board of Directors following a recommendation from the league's Director of Athletics.
The 2025 season will be the second year that the SEC Championship Game will be played between the top two teams out of the 16 teams in the conference standings at the end of the regular season. Starting with the 2024 season, the SEC will eliminate regional rankings and welcome Texas and Oklahoma State into the league.
