For the past several years, Angelina College's men's soccer program has consistently ranked among the top junior college programs in the country. Last season, the Roadrunners won the NJCAA Gulf South Regional Tournament and earned an automatic berth to the NJCAA Division I Men's National Soccer Tournament.
It was probably the best season in Roadrunner football history. Angelina College finished the regular season undefeated, but suffered two early losses and was eliminated from the national tournament.
Angelina College hopes to add top-notch players next season and move toward a national championship. The Roadrunners will host an event this Saturday with soccer players from the East Texas area to help further that goal.
Angelina College will hold an “ID Camp” on Saturday, March 23rd at the Larry Phillips Family Sports Complex on the AC campus. This session is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon and includes a campus tour.
This camp is designed to provide high school and college transfer students the opportunity to experience training and skills evaluation by college coaches while learning more about the recruiting process.
Session costs are $50 for online registration and $75 for in-person registration on the day of camp. Participants are asked to bring their own water bottle, soccer ball, shin guards, and soccer cleats.
Camp schedule, registration and payment information is available online. https://www.angelinasoccercamps.com/. For more information, please contact AC Men's Soccer Head Coach Martin Melchor at mmelchor@angelina.edu.
