Draymond Green is in his 12th NBA season. The Golden State Warriors veteran played against some of the most talented players in the league. He's also teammates with some future legends, so he's in a unique position to debate which players are the most skilled in the league.
On a recent episode of his podcast, “The Draymond Green Show,” the winning forward praised Kyrie Irving's winning shot against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday (March 17). Green then went on to state that he believes Irving is the most skilled player in NBA history, thus surpassing Stephen Curry.
“There's really nothing you can do to stop Kyrie from scoring, just let him take the tough shots and do your best to live with the consequences,” Green said. “I saw Damian Lillard tweet, 'Kyrie Irving is the most skilled player in NBA history.' Frankly, I don't know how anyone can argue with that…Kyrie's ability is unreal.”
The mercurial guard has been one of the NBA's best players for over a decade. However, his tenure with the Mavericks has kept him out of the spotlight to some extent. Still, his winning shot against the reigning NBA champion was a reminder of what he's capable of.
But the Warriors can't focus on what other teams are doing. Their season hasn't gone as planned. Steve Kerr will be keen to see them stack up some wings to create additional breathing space within the play-in spot. Otherwise, the Warriors could be in danger of missing the postseason altogether.
