NBA fans had a field day on social media as Raptors wing Grady Dick and Magic guard Anthony Black swapped jerseys after Sunday's game in Orlando.
The 20-year-old rookies gathered on the court after the Magic's 111-96 win, hugging each other's jerseys for a photo, but fans were quick to combine their last names into an inappropriate phrase. I noticed that there was.
The Orlando Magic posted and deleted a photo of the two smiling after the game, only to realize after the fact that it was an NSFW post.
The jersey exchange at Kia Center quickly went viral, with some fans saying it appeared Black and Dick knew what they were doing and had laughed and discussed it on the court beforehand.
According to Rob Perez, a social media favorite for all things NBA, Dick appeared to say, “Fuck you,” before Black shifted for the photo.
Dick, who was selected by the Raptors with the 13th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, started Sunday's game and had 10 points and one assist in 27 minutes.
Black played three minutes off the bench and had two points and one steal.
The Raptors were missing All-Star forwards Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett. The Knicks traded Immanuel Quickley and a 2024 second-round draft pick to Toronto in December, acquiring OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn.
Barnes underwent surgery for a fractured middle finger on his left hand sustained in a 120-105 loss to the Golden State Warriors on March 1, and there is no timetable for his return.
Barrett remains away from the team as he mourns the loss of his brother, Nathan Barrett, who passed away on March 12th.
The cause of death of the 19-year-old, who was studying to become a pilot, has not been disclosed.
Nathan “became ill and stayed home for several weeks” before his death. According to Sportsnet's Michael Grange.
