As sports fans prepare for March Madness, the NBA and college basketball worlds got the memo.
On Selection Sunday, as many schools celebrated earning tickets to the NCAA Basketball Tournament, fans of the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks celebrated game winners courtesy of Bam Adebayo and Kyrie Irving, respectively.
According to ESPN Stats & Information, Sunday was the first time since April 9, 2017 that multiple NBA game-winning buzzer beaters occurred on the same day.
On the college basketball front, the Yale Bulldogs earned their spot in dramatic fashion.
The women's Missouri Valley Conference finals featured the No. 1 Drake Bulldogs, who defeated the No. 3 Missouri State Lady Bears with seconds remaining to win the championship.
The day before, the No. 5 Wisconsin Badgers defeated the No. 1 Purdue Boilermakers in overtime, 76-75, in the men's Big Ten semifinals.

Kyrie Irving elbowed left-handed runner Nikola Jokic and the Mavericks won.
On the West Coast, Irving played phenomenally, leading the Mavericks to the defending champion Denver Nuggets.
Irving received the pass on the right side of the basket and curled to the free throw line area. He then hit a running left hook shot over Nikola Jokic to give the Mavericks their fifth win in six games.

Bam Adebayo collected the stone and buried the buzzer-beater to give the Heat the victory.
With the score tied in Detroit, Heat guard Terry Rozier grabbed the rebound after Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham missed a 3-point shot. Rozier bounced the ball back to Adebayo, who hit a 3-point shot.
It was Adebayo's only 3-point shot of the game. He is shooting 18.8% from 3-point range this season.

Yale wins Ivy League title with buzzer-beater
Yale stopped Brown's comeback with a buzzer-beating floater and won the Ivy League tournament.
With an Ivy League championship on the line and a chance to go to the dance in March, the No. 2 Yale Bulldogs defeated the No. 4 Brown Bears.
Down by one point, the Bulldogs moved the ball and found senior forward Matt Knowling alone on the left block. Knowling immediately hit a floater to seal the Bulldogs' 62-61 victory.

When Courtney Becker found Anna Miller in the paint, she stepped up and sank Drake's buzzer-beating game-winner against Missouri State, 76-75.
A similar scenario saw a spectacular showdown in Sunday's MVC women's final.
Junior forward Anna Miller received the ball, took a one-drop step and made a layup to punch the Bulldogs to a 76-75 victory.

Chucky Hepburn collected and laid down the stones, and the Badgers sent the game into overtime.
In a shocking upset Saturday, the Badgers defeated the Boilermakers after sending the game to overtime.
