The OU softball team continued its strong run Sunday, defeating Texas Tech 11-1 and ending a three-game series against the Red Raiders in Lubbock, Texas.
Alyssa Brito hit two home runs to seal the series victory, and OU coach Patti Gasso became the first coach in Big 12 history to win 400 conference games.
The first-place Sooners (27-1, 6-0 Big 12) have won nine straight.
After scoring 12 points in the top of the first inning in a 15-2 win on Saturday, Sunday's game got off to a bit of a slow start, but OU still took the lead.
Jada Coleman led off the game with a single, advanced to second base on a groundout, and Ella Parker singled for an RBI.
Sidney Sanders drove in Parker with a single late in the inning.
The Red Raiders narrowed the lead in the third inning on back-to-back singles by Sooners starter Nicole May.
The Sooners added another run in the fifth inning on Brito's two-run home run, and in the sixth inning on Riley Boone's RBI.
Brito took the lead in the seventh inning with his ninth home run of the season, and later in the inning, Boone hit a two-run homer.
The Sooners outscored the Red Raiders 40-3 in the series.
May (9-0) pitched six innings, allowing seven hits (all singles) and striking out six. Carly Keeney pitched seven scoreless innings to end the game.
Brito had three hits in five at-bats, two runs scored, and three RBIs.
Avery Hodge was 2-for-2 with two hits and two RBIs.
OU returns to Love's Field to face Texas-Arlington on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The Sooners will host Baylor next weekend at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City for three straight games, including Friday's matchup.
