RA Long controlled possession and won 2-0 against Hudson's Bay in a 2A Greater St. Helens League boys soccer game Saturday at Longview Memorial Stadium.
Brayan Valdivia scored in the 33rd minute on a cross from teammate Liam Hendrickson to the far post. Valdivia beat the Hudson's Bay keeper just short of the corner, giving the Lumberjacks a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Jacks added another point late in the second half when Alex Wood converted a penalty shot after Hendrickson was taken down in the box.
“It was a great win for the boys,” RA Long coach Max Anderson said. “More importantly, this is another opportunity to strengthen our team chemistry, which we hope will serve us well as the season progresses.”
The Lumberjacks earned three more points with the win, as goaltenders Raul Sanchez and Peyton Till kept clean sheets.
