Parkin talks about key moments of the match
“I thought I had a good chance of finishing on the floor. I thought I was a better grappler than him. I caught him with some good, clean shots and then obviously stayed on my feet and finished him.”
Parkin commits career to coach
“I'm literally just going to let things take their course. I know it's a fast road, that's for sure. I'm going to take my time and my next fight will be in the top 15. I'm happy with the path I'm on. It's all up to my coach. If he feels it's right, then it's right. I'm still making a lot of mistakes. I'm still getting better, so I'm just going to keep working hard and see what UFC has to offer me. I'm happy with anything.”
What's next for Parkin?
“I wasn't paying attention to[fights in other weight classes]. This fight, this name was decided, so I was focused on that. I'll have to think about it later. But I'm happy. UFC was good. I think the fight was very fair and it was a good match. So, considering what they want and how they feel, I think November would be good. I'd like to take it easy for a week and get back to training. I'm in fight camp all the time, so there's no time to rest.”
