U.S. women's field hockey team draws with Spain in second match at Paris Olympics
The U.S. women's field hockey team held Spain to a 1-1 draw in the second game of the Paris Olympics. Berks County native Sofia Gladio scored the goal for the U.S. team. A U.S. goal late in the game was ruled nullified due to foot contact. The U.S. team will face Australia in its third pool match on Wednesday. The field hockey team includes nine players from Pennsylvania; three of them are from the Susquehanna Valley: Brooke and Emma DeBardin, both from Lancaster County, and Maddie Zimmer, from Hershey. Hershey's Jenny Rizzo is a provisional player for the team.
