Pit Submission Series 7 will take place on July 25, 2024, with a series of bouts scheduled on the card featuring some of the biggest stars in both MMA and BJJ. After being reduced to two bouts for the sixth event, it will be back up to three bouts for PSS 7. The first bout on the card is the only one involving two elite BJJ athletes and is probably the one that will attract the most attention from grappling fans. ADCC veteran Patrick Gaudio will be making his promotional debut and will face a tough challenge from another highly experienced fighter, Diego Ramalho.
The Gaudio vs. Ramalho fight will actually be a rematch after 10 years. The two first met on the mat back in 2016, with Gaudio winning by submission via triangle choke, but a lot has changed since then and both fighters have developed entirely new skill sets. The second bout will also feature one of the top heavyweights in the world today, Roosevelt Souza, taking on UFC veteran Alexander Romanov. While Romanov is clearly focused on his professional mixed martial arts career, he's no stranger to grappling matches.
Of course, Souza has the advantage in this fight, but Romanov has nine submission wins in his career and is very tough to beat. This leads us to tonight's final bout, which also features the only matchup between two MMA veterans. Aljamain Sterling will be returning to professional grappling once again, as the former UFC bantamweight champion will face off against top Bellator contender Jay Jay Wilson. Wilson may not be as well-known as Sterling, but he is an extremely talented fighter who will be eager to take advantage of the opportunity to face one of the sport's biggest names.
