Coach Mario Cristobal landed Miami's second-highest rated commitment of the 2025 cycle on Saturday when former LSU commit Javoree Antoine, No. 54 in the ESPN 300, committed to the Hurricanes.
The four-star cornerback from New Iberia, Louisiana, originally committed to LSU on Jan. 27 but then withdrew his commitment to the Tigers and recommitted on June 23 after visiting Miami and Florida State.
Less than a month later, Antoine joined the Hurricanes as their top defender and the program's second-best prospect in the class of 2025. Behind Antoine is only five-star offensive guard SJ Alofaituli, who committed to Miami earlier this month.
Antoine's pledge marks Cristobal's 15th addition to the 2025 class since June 1, with six of those signings coming from inside the ESPN 300. The No. 2 prospect in the state of Louisiana this season, Antoine is tied with Alofaituli and four-star safety Hilton Stubbs as one of three top-100 prospects currently committing to Miami in a 2025 class ranked No. 10 in ESPN's latest team rankings.
Antoine missed all but five games last fall as a junior at Westgate High School because of a collarbone injury. He then committed to Louisiana State University in January over finalists Texas and Tennessee and joined the Tigers as one of coach Brian Kelly's key players in his 2025 class.
Antoine's commitments continued into late June, with Louisiana State, Miami and Florida State being among his options in recent weeks before narrowing it down to the Tigers and Hurricanes earlier this week. In committing to the Hurricanes, Antoine leads a defensive class that also includes Stubbs, inside linebackers Elijah Melendez (4th ILB) and Gavin Nix (5th ILB), defensive end Herbert Scroggins (27th DE) and cornerback Chris Ewald (29th CB).
Antoine's addition makes Cristobal the 10th commit to the ESPN 300 in one of college football's fastest-growing classes for 2025. With the addition of the nation's No. 7 cornerback, Miami is poised to continue climbing the rankings as the Hurricanes seek to finish with a top-10 class for the third consecutive year.
