A new soccer star has been born, and he's still in his early teens!
According to NBC News, 14-year-old Cavan Sullivan became the youngest player in Major League Soccer history to play in the Philadelphia Union's match against the New England Revolution on July 17.
According to the outlet, the Union midfielder made his debut about 85 minutes into the game, just minutes after his brother and teammate, 20-year-old Quinn Sullivan, scored a goal to put Union up 5-1.

According to the media, Sullivan joined the Philadelphia Union youth academy in 2020 and made his professional debut with MLS development league Philadelphia Union II earlier this year.
Freddy Adu was also 14 when he made his MLS debut for D.C. United in 2004, but Sullivan officially broke Adu's record when he made his debut at 14 years and 293 days, according to NBC News. Sullivan was two weeks younger than Adu.
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Adu sent a message of congratulations to Sullivan: “Big congratulations to Cavan Sullivan on his record-breaking debut today. This is a hard record to beat but he's done it. Well done and best of luck,” Adu's message read.
Talent appears to run in the Sullivan family, as both his brothers, Cavan and Quinn, and both his parents played football.
